About Research
The Research section of Procurement Services manages procurement activities for projects financed through research funds in accordance with the University’s policies as well as the funding agencies’ guidelines and policies (see Policies/Guidelines and Forms).
In the context of Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) projects, Procurement Services’ Research section has considerable experience in negotiating with suppliers prepared to provide the special supplementary University CFI discount needed for these projects.
In addition, the Research Section evaluates proposed in-kind contributions to determine their eligibility within CFI guidelines. Procurement Services works closely with the researcher to ensure that equipment requested meets the required technical objectives, as well as fitting into target budget guidelines.
